Oxjam Music Festival takes place every
October and is made up of hundreds of events happening around the UK. The
Notting Hill Takeover takes place this Saturday (19th October) and will include
multi-venue live music and DJ events. There are genres to suit every taste and
they will be happening at some of the coolest places in Notting Hill, London.
You can buy a £10 wrist band, which gets you entry to all 5 venues (Bargain!
That's less than one gig...) and all proceeds to to Oxfam so it's a win
win...can't go wrong with having fun while raising money for charity!
I have been lucky enough to have the
opportunity to be the Venue Manager for one of the venues (Portobello Gold) on
the night and I can't wait to get stuck in. You can find out more information
about Oxjam here and buy tickets in
advance here
or you can turn up on the night and get one from any of the venues if we're not
already full of course!
The Globe will have you dancing until
2.30 in the morning and the other venues include Mau Mau bar, Trailer
Happiness, Portobello Gold and the Castle all on Portobello Road. They
will be showcasing bands, artists and Dj's like: Black River Wild, Latala,
Lizzie Nightingale, Tom Mac Tom,Samson, Pyrelli, Dorjee, Afro Grooves and
plenty more if you want to check them out first! It all kicks off at 3pm at Mau Mau Bar so get involved!
